There is a surprising rebirth of belief in God, Bible sales are soaring and increasing numbers of people are being drawn to explore the Christian faith.
At the same time there is a growing fascination with paganism, the occult and all manner of spiritual beliefs and practices.
How can we respond to this strange new reality with cultural awareness, gospel confidence and biblical faithfulness?
What is prompting people to explore the Christian faith? What helps them on their journey? What obstacles do they face? As God works in his sovereign grace, what is bringing them to faith? And what discipleship challenges follow conversion?
Firmly anchored in God’s Word and motivated by a heart to understand the times and to see lost people saved, the focus of this year’s Evangelism Conference is
Starting our day together, Nick McQuaker, Ministry Director of A Passion for Life will expound the scriptures, directing us to place our confidence, not in the latest statistic or encouraging story, but in the God of all power and grace who is building his church.
Our keynote speaker will be Phil Knox, Head of Gospel Impact at the Evangelical Alliance and co-author of the research report, Finding Jesus: Identifying pathways to faith in adulthood. From his experience as an evangelist, travelling the country, preaching the gospel and talking with church leaders in diverse contexts, he is ably equipped to open up our conference theme.
Rico Tice, Evangelist with Christianity Explored Ministries will deliver our closing session. Applying the message of1 Thessalonians to our current context, he will help us think about fashioning discipleship pathways that establish new believers in Christ.
A choice of seminars led by Nick McQuaker and Nay Dawson respectively will provide inspiration and practical instruction:
Nay Dawson is an experienced evangelist and trainer who has led teams for both UCCF and IFES. She founded and now works fulltime leading Passion for Evangelism, helping women grow in confidence in public communication.
